A new light for horticulture. LEDs that improve productivity and resource efficiency

Introduction to LED technology for horticulture, with in-depth study of the evolutionary synergy between artificial lighting and soilless cultivation systems in order to increase the efficiency of resources use (energy, water and nutrients) and improve food productivity both in quantitative terms and qualitative in controlled environments. Conclusions with six case studies of which three in indoor environments (vertical farm, seed breeding, micropropagation) and three in greenhouses (toplight for aromatics in aeroponics, interlight and toplight for tomato, nurseries).
