Soilless table grape cultivation: why?

Soilless cultivation is a dynamic system. In Sicily it’s developed in cold greenhouse. The main strengths are:

  • – early ripeness and enlargement of the marketing calendar;
  • – obtain the first full production in only two years;
  • – overcoming the replanting “problems”;
  • – quick and early varietal renewal;
  • – seasonal adjustment of the productions.

In Sicily we obtained more than 35 tons of grape per hectare.  Moreover it’s possible to have two harvest in the same years and greenhouse with more than 70 tons of total yield per year and per hectare.
