Runrid Fox-Kämper, Dipl.-Ing. Architect is Head of Research Group „Built Environment” at the ILS – Research Institute for Regional and Urban Development (since 2008). At present she is the national coordinator for Germany of the FEW-meter project (www.fewmeter.org) She chaired COST Action TU1201 “Urban Allotment Gardens in European Cities” from 2012 to 2016 (www.urbanallotments.eu) . Before she was Head of the Department for Architecture at the ILS NRW – Research Institute for Regional and Urban Development of Federal State of North Rhine Westphalia (since 2003), and from 1999 to 2003 she was Head of the Department Building Design at the Landesinstitut für Bauwesen (LB NRW), where she startet her scientific career in 1992. After finishing her study of architecture at Aachen University in 1985 and a traineeship and final governmental licensing exam in 1987 she worked in diverse architecture offices in Cologne. She is chartered member of the Architectural Association North Rhine Westphalia. Her research interests cover the adaptation of residential areas to social change, the role of climate change and the position of green infrastructure in urban development.
